Exhibition «Dreaming of the Sea»

Tomorrow from 10:00
About event

From 1 to 28 February visit the Book Pavilion to attend the "Dreaming of the Sea" exhibition. The exposition consists of works of modern artists in different genres: photography, drawing, painting, collage, embroidery, sculpture and installation. Admission is free.

Come and see how the sea is expressed in other bodies of water, such as the marinas, rivers, ponds and swamps of the Moscow Region. This is a chance to see installations by Olga Tumanova, drawings by Vasily Anikin and photos by Alyona Maydan. The exposition also features imaginary sea creatures (like Irina Turchina's mermaids and Vladimir Shishak's optical-illusion whale). The artists reinterpret everyday objects, turning them into the shapes of waves and the coastline.

The works are created by graduates of the School of Contemporary Art Svobodnye Masterskie who participated in the International Youth Biennale of Contemporary Art: Ekaterina Efimova, Irina Turchenko, Vasilisa Lebedeva, Bonzha, Nafiza, Veronika Pel, Anastasiya Buy, Anastasiya Brintseva, Ekaterina Serikova, Leysan Iskandarova, Alyona Maydan, Vasilisa Lipatova, Vladimir Shishak, Olga Tumanova, Alexey Ryabov, Pavel Suslov, Elina Marusova, KISI and Olga Gorodenskaya.

The exhibition was organised as a joint effort of VDNH and the State Museum and Exhibition Centre "ROSIZO".

The Book Pavilion is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Sanitary restrictions are in place. All visitors must practice social distancing and wear masks and gloves.
