Exhibition «Dot Your Ё»
The "Dot Your Ё" exhibition will tell the story of this unusual letter: how the words we are used to today have changed over time and how attempts to improve the Russian alphabet were made, to varying degrees of success.
The exhibition is dedicated to the history of this controversial Russian letter, which has caused countless arguments and discussions over the years. One of the exhibits—a timeline—covers the period from the 13th century to the present day. Visitors will be able to evaluate the impact of historical events on linguistic norms through examples of grammar books, classical literature, the press, printed materials and personal letters.
A large number of exhibits were provided by the exhibition's partners: the Russian State Library, the Museum of Moscow, the Pushkin State Museum, the State Central Museum of Cinema.
