A new exhibition in memory of Tahir Salahov opens at VDNH

On 16 October, a photo exhibition in memory of Tahir Salahov, People’s Artist of the USSR, Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, Hero of Socialist Labour, will open in Pavilion No. 14 (the Republic of Azerbaijan) at VDNH. Admission to the exhibition is free.

Starting from 16 October, all guests of VDNH will be able to visit a new photo exhibition at Pavilion No. 14, the Republic of Azerbaijan. The exhibition is dedicated to Tahir Salahov, one of the founders of the ‘severe style’ in Azerbaijani and Russian painting of the latter half of the 20th century. Salahov’s works are exhibited at top museums in Russia, Azerbaijan and around the world, including the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Moscow), the State Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow), the Museum of Russian Art (Taiwan) and the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art (Baku).

The VDNH event will showcase rare photographs from the artist’s family archive, shedding light on the different stages of his creative journey and his personal life alike, as well as Infinity, a video installation designed by the great master’s grandson, Kaikhan Salahov.

Dates: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., 16 October to 29 November, except Mondays. Admission is free.
