During the school holidays, Russia's Main Exhibition invites children to free tours of the VDNH Museum, Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre and the Slovo Centre for Slavic Writing. Young visitors will also get to watch plays at the Theatre of Fairy Tales. All events will be held with a limited number of participants and follow the safety measures established by Rospotrebnadzor government agency.
From 28 October until 7 November, VDNH Museum invites school groups to free Time Travel guided tours. Children will take an exciting walk through time and space, travel to different eras of the 20th century and learn the history of Russia's Main Exhibition. Guided tours will be available for groups of up to 20 people, Thursday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. To book a tour for a specific date and time, call +7(495)544-34-96 and pre-register your educational institution. Children under the age of 14 can visit the museum with parents who hold a QR code. Children aged between 14 and 18 can visit museums without a QR code or parents.
Free sightseeing tours for schoolchildren will be organised at the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre on 29–31 October and 1–7 November, at 2 p.m. A tour guide will take the young visitors to the KB-1 Space Boulevard to discover the history of Russian cosmonautics and the KB-2 Design Bureau whose exposition ranges from the first rockets to future expeditions to distant planets. After the tour, children will get to dream at the KB-3 Cosmodrome of the Future. The number of participants is limited to 20. Pre-registration is required. One pupil may be accompanied by one adult. To take a virtual tour of the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre, get acquainted with its exhibits and learn the latest space news, schoolchildren are invited to visit the #SpaceFromHome (#КосмосИзДома) section on the centre's official website, brought to you by tour guides, as well as the #SmallSpace (#МаленькийКосмос) and #WatchSpace (#СмотриКосмос) video blogs on the centre's Instagram page.
The Slovo Centre for Slavic Writing invites schoolchildren to free sightseeing tours on 28, 29 October and 2, 3 November at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Pupils will get to learn about the first alphabets and the earliest literary works that have survived to this day. Interactive exhibits—a monastic cell, a zemstvo school and a printing workshop—will help the visitors dive into the atmosphere of the past. The number of participants is limited to 20. The Theatre of Fairy Tales will stage two plays during school holidays. During the Around the World in Fairy Tale interactive show, children will travel across five continents, learn about fascinating geography, flora, fauna and the rich cultural heritage of the different peoples of our planet. And the Fairy Tale Number One. The Return will let the young adventure seekers meet their good friends Zmey Drakonych, Ivan Tsarevich, Leshy, Koshchey and other fabled creatures once again. This time they will be travelling to three fabulous worlds together: to the sky for a Firebird feather, to the mystery forest for a fern flower and to the undersea cave for a gemstone. The schedule and tickets are available on the website. The theatre will operate in COVID-free mode at no more than 50% of its regular visitor capacity. Children can visit the theatre with parents who hold a QR code.
During the school holidays, children will also get to attend two educational programmes of VDNH's Classroom Curriculum project: The History of Victories: 20th Century in Two Hours and Special-Purpose VDNH: The Era of Vehicles.
