The Geographical Dictation will be held at VDNH's Moskvarium on 14 November. After the test, participants will be invited to a free themed guided tour, The Geography of Russia: Seas, Rivers, Lakes. The guided tour has been developed specifically for the international educational initiative of the Russian Geographical Society. You can join the dictation and the guided tour for free upon prior registration at the call centre.
At 12:00 p.m. on 14 November 2021, visitors of the Moskvarium Centre of Oceanography and Marine Biology at VDNH will be able to test their knowledge of geography by taking part in the Geographical Dictation. The dictation consists of 40 questions divided into two sections: 10 questions of the basic level (the basics of geography) and 30 more advanced questions which require creative thinking, systematic logic and erudition. There are no age restrictions: the dictation is available for adults and children. The event will take place at Moskvarium's lectorium located on the ground floor.
Moskvarium at VDNH hosted its first Geographical Dictation in 2019. This year, it will be organised for the second time. The oceanarium's experts developed the Geography of Russia: Seas, Rivers, Lakes themed guided tour specifically for this event. After the dictation, participants will be able to go on a guided tour of Moskvarium and see Kamchatka crab, Russian sturgeon, White Sea lumpfish, giant octopus, black scorpionfish and many other marine species. The centre's visitors will see the new installation of a mussel farm in the Black Sea Aquarium and get to watch Baikal seals.
Please note that capacity is limited. To participate in the dictation and the guided tour, call Moskvarium to preregister at +7 (499) 677-99-99.
The visitors of Moskvarium at VDNH are expected to wear face masks and keep a social distance. You can find more information on anti-coronavirus measures at VDNH here.
