On 12 April at 10:00 a.m., there will be the All-Russian Space Dictation. It will be held by the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre at VDNH in partnership with the Roscosmos State Corporation. It will be possible to take part in the campaign on offline venues in different regions of Russia, as well as online from anywhere in the world. Dictation questions will be read by famous cosmonauts, politicians, rocket and space industry specialists and others, and one of the questions will be read directly from the International Space Station.
The Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre at VDNH is holding the Space Dictation for the fourth time. The first took place on 12 April 2019. In 2020, because of the pandemic, the event took place in an online format. Last year, the Space Dictation received the status of the All-Russian for the first time, 210 people took part in it directly at VDNH, and the live broadcast of the action was watched by more than 500,000 people.
This year, the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre at VDNH will again become the main venue of the All-Russian Space Dictation. From here, there will be a live broadcast, which will be connected to other platforms organised in different regions of Russia. Thus, the dictation will be possible to write in the Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics, Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Zvyozdniy Gorodok near Moscow and the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics in Kaluga, as well as in Artek, Smena and Orlyonok Child Centres, colleges and universities in Saratov, Tomsk, Stavropol and many other cities in the country.
The dictation will consist of 30 questions covering different areas of knowledge, such as biographies of legends of national astronautics, life and work in orbit, planetary exploration and others. The author of the dictation will traditionally be Fyodor Yurchikhin, cosmonaut and Hero of Russia, the president of the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre.
The questions will be read by famous cosmonauts, rocket and space industry specialists and others, and one of the tasks will be read by members of the International Space Station crew.
All comers in the age of 12 years will be able to test their knowledge. To do this, you will need to choose one of the ways to participate. To write the dictation in the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre on VDNH, you need to register in advance.
Everyone who gathers at other venues will have access to a live video broadcast at the link. A list of all offline venues can be found on the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre's website in the 'Space Dictation' section.
Those who will not be able to attend the dictation venues will be able to participate in it on their own—from anywhere in the world. To do this, go to the КосмоВсеобуч.рф website to receive and fill out the form. To become a participant in the online format, you need to open an electronic questionnaire on any digital device connected to the Internet on 12 April from 9:40 a.m. Moscow time and enter your contact information. At the same time as the start of the event at 10:00 a.m., the questionnaire will allow you to fill in the answers, indicating the correct ones, and at the end click 'Send'.
Electronic questionnaires with completed answers are accepted until 12:00 p.m. Moscow time. According to the results of the dictation, there will be 50 winners chosen. They will be determined by two criteria: the number of correct answers and the time the questionnaire was sent. In the case of a tie, those whose questionnaires were received earlier will have the advantage.
The winners will receive valuable prizes from Roscosmos, such as books about space signed by Fyodor Yurchikhin. In addition, in the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre at VDNH, the three best participants in the dictation will be given space watches of the Shturmanskiye brand, one of which is a copy of the watch that was on the hand of Yury Gagarin in his legendary flight.
The results of the second All-Russian Space Dictation will be summarised on 19 April 2022. For more information about the venues of the campaign, the rules of participation and registration for the event, please visit the website of Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre.
