Wakeboard and Workouts: the Sports Festival at VDNH Offers New Lectures

7 may 2021

On 8 May, VDNH is inviting every fan of active living to its House of Culture. The venue will host two lectures from the Sports Festival programme, dedicated to popular activities like wakeboarding and working out. Admission is free, but preliminary registration is required.

At 16:00, the guests will hear a lecture titled All About Modern Wakeboarding. What? Where? How?. The lecturer is Nikita Terskov, holder of numerous champion titles in this sport and the best-known Russian wakeboarder in the world. The audience will find out how to transform a hobby into a professional athletic pursuit and what to work on for the best results.

At 6:30 p.m., the festival guests will be invited to another lecture, Socialisation Through Workouts. Mikhail Kitayev, one of the movement's leaders in Russia, will talk about what makes a real workout, how to join the workout community and how to succeed in this challenging sport.

Lecture participation is free, but preliminary registration is required. Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are still in place at VDNH. Visitors are required to maintain social distancing and wear masks and gloves indoors.

The Sports Festival is a collaborative project of VDNH and the autonomous non-profit organisation Mossport. Support for the project comes from the Department of Sports of Moscow City Hall. VDNH House of Culture will be hosting meetings with famous Russian athletes at Pavilion No. 84 until 22 May. In addition, the public will be able to watch the lectures' online livestreams on the Moscow Sport YouTube channel.
