Russian Elevator Week: VDNH to showcase innovation in vertical transportation technology

On 1 through 3 June, VDNH will welcome the foremost business highlight of Russia's hoists and elevators industry, the 10th international Russian Elevator Week hoisting technology expo. The 10th anniversary exhibition will go on show in Pavilions No. 55 and 57. The three days promise to be packed with presentations of the latest models of elevators and hoisting systems, as well as business events and competitions.

The official opening ceremony for the show will be attended by Deputy Minister of Construction and Residential Utilities of the Russian Federation Maksim Yegorov, Director of the Machine-Building and Heavy Engineering Department at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the RF Valery Piven, Director of Sales VDNH JSC Timur Zeldich, Vice President of the National Lift Union Alexei Zakharov, Deputy of the Moscow City Assembly, Chair of the Urban Planning, State Property and Land Use Commission of the Moscow City Assembly Elena Nikolaeva and Chair of the Construction Workers' Trade Union of Moscow Valery Laptev.

The Russian Elevator Week will showcase the entire spectrum of state-of-the-art vertical transportation equipment: elevators, escalators, wheelchair hoists, vehicle lifts, elevator control systems and related installation, maintenance, standardisation and certification services.

The expo will be attended by leading industry players from Russia, China, Taiwan, Italy, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Germany, Turkey, South Korea and Sweden. The names on the exhibitor list include OTIS, Wittur, Metallschneider, Vega S.r.l., Karacharovsky Mechanical Engineering, Shcherbinsky Lift Engineering, Moslift JSC, Euroliftmash Manufacturing LLC and Mogilevliftmash OJSC.

The forum Safety and Accessibility of Vertical Transportation in Russia is the obvious highlight of the expo's business programme. The forum will begin at 1 p.m. on 1 June in the Great Conference Room of Pavilion No. 55. Government officials, heads of trade associations and industry groups will address the standards, requirements and challenges associated with the safe operation and maintenance of elevators and lifts for the service of people with impaired mobility, and discuss how to protect and support the domestic manufacturer.

A number of manufacturers have innovative elevator cages and engineering solutions up their sleeve, to be unveiled on-stage at Pavilion No. 55, as well as at the respective exhibition booths. Germany's Wittur will spotlight a standard European lift system adapted to the Russian well size. Euroliftmash Manufacturing will present a new-generation passenger lift model, a panoramic lift cage and a Premium designer lift cage. Shcherbinsky Lift Engineering will unveil its rejuvenated family of lift cage designs along with the prototype of a direct drive hoist designed in-house. Moslift JSC emergency rescue vehicles will be on show at the outdoor site in front of Pavilion No. 57 the entire time of the expo.

The expo will feature a professional competition in the field of vertical transportation. A reputable jury will select winners in ten categories such as 'Best Lift for New Construction and Rebuilding', 'Best Replacement Lift for From-the-Ground-Up Renovation of Apartment Blocks', 'Up-to-Date Solutions in the Industry of Elevators and Hoisting Systems'. The award ceremony will be held on the stage of Pavilion No. 55 at 3 p.m. on 2 June.

Russian Elevator Week participants and visitors are welcome to take advantage of the loyalty scheme designed purposely for the anniversary expo and enjoy the best VDNH museums and activities for less.

The 10th international Russian Elevator Week exhibition of elevators and hoisting equipment will follow all the safety prescriptions officially in force. Visitors are required to wear face masks and gloves and maintain social distancing.
