Concerts at VDNH Greenhouse: Japanese and European folk, rock and classical

The Greenhouse at Pavilion No. 14 Republic of Azerbaijan will be hosting a new series of concerts on 3 through 6 June. The concerts will feature Japanese, Italian and Spanish music, Russian romantic songs, jazz, rock covers and classical masterpieces.

An enchanting musical journey across the East and the West awaits the audience at 9 p.m. on 3 June. The band Tori will be playing Japanese and European folk music that night. The band features such instruments as Japanese flutes and lute, Chinese violin and matchless vocals.

The eminent vocalist and actress Miranda Mirianashvili will be treating listeners to her World Without Borders programme at 9 p.m. on 4 June, featuring Italian, Spanish, Gypsy and Russian songs, jazz standards, French pop favourites and Georgian folk songs. Mirianashvili will be accompanied by piano virtuoso Riad Mammadov and some of the best guitar players in Russia, Mikhail Ivanov and Eduard Shvydchenko.

The world-famous child prodigy pianist, prizewinner of high-profile international music competitions Dmitry Shishkin will be playing at the Greenhouse at 9 p.m. on 5 June. Shishkin played his first solo concert at age three. Shishkin plays with some of the foremost orchestras in Russia and around Europe, keeping the best traditions of Russian piano music alive.

From Vivaldi to Metallica is the title of the concert in store for the audience at 9 p.m. on 6 June. The rock covers and classical masterpieces will be performed by the Melodion quartet. The audience will be treated to exclusive custom arrangements of the timeless favourites.

Seating is subject to social distancing requirements at the concerts in the Greenhouse of VDNH Pavilion No. 14. Occupancy is limited to 50% of room capacity on account of the current sanitary restrictions. All visitors are expected to wear face masks and gloves.
