VDNH to host Protected Soil of Russia exhibition

VDNH Pavilion No. 57 will host the 18th specialised exhibition Protected Soil of Russia from 8 to 10 June. This major event in the greenhouse industry showcases new products and achievements in the production of high quality environmentally safe foodstuffs.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations has declared 2021 the International Year of Fruit and Vegetables. The goal is to disseminate information about their importance for nutrition and health. A key focus of the Protected Soil of Russia exhibition will be on events aimed at promoting the quality and environmental safety of produce grown in Russian greenhouses.

Participants of the exposition will include manufacturers of structural components, equipment and materials for building greenhouses, sorting and packing vegetables, seeds, fertilisers and plant protection agents. While familiarising themselves with the products and services offered by leading rural producers, visitors will be able to obtain farming advice from highly qualified professionals.

The business programme will start with a conference entitled Trends in the Effective Development of Protected Soils under Modern Economic Conditions, which will take place in the conference hall of Pavilion No. 57 on 8 June from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Government representatives, company executives and industry experts will discuss the potential of domestic greenhouse vegetable production, mushroom growing and floriculture in the current economic environment. The seminars on 9 June will involve discussions on effective land cultivation technologies, plant protection, as well as innovative digital solutions in the industry. The same day will also feature a round table entitled Aspects of Successful Cooperation between Greenhouse Companies and Retail Chains.

The exhibition will also feature the award ceremony for the laureates of the Russian National Label (3rd millennium). The 21st Century Quality Mark in the Environmentally Safe Food nomination and the High Consumer Qualities of Protected Soil Products contest.

The 18th specialised exhibition Protected Soil of Russia will take place in full compliance with all the safety requirements of the Federal Consumer Supervision Service. Visitors are required to wear face masks and gloves and maintain social distancing.
