VDNH invites you to attend Russia day celebrations

The Russia Day programme at VDNH was prepared by the Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre, the Slovo Centre, Russia—My History historical park, Moskvarium and the Robostantsiya, along with other venues. Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina announced the programme.

Pavilion tickets will have to be purchased to access certain events. All in-person events are held in strict compliance with applicable health and safety restrictions. All participants must maintain social distancing and use personal protective equipment.

'The Russia Day programme at VDNH includes excursions, workshops, quests and performances by street musicians. Some of the events will go on through the weekends from 12 to 14 June', Natalia Sergunina noted.

Street musicians will perform on 12 June from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at 15 locations, such as Central Alley, the Industry Square and next to the House of Culture at the Northern and Southern rosaries. Jazz, rock, pop and folk will also be playing.

Meanwhile, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., between Pavilion No. 1, the Central and the Friendship of Peoples fountain, the youth and children brass band Young Fanfarers of Russia will perform the Victory Fanfares concert along with other performers.

The Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre and the Slovo centre will offer free excursions on 12 June. The Slovo Centre for Slavic Writing is offering thematic excursions on Russia and the Meaning of the Word at 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Visitors will learn about the role that writing played in establishing the Russian state, the future the great Russian dukes wanted for their descendants and how the language has changed over time. Advanced registration is required.

The Cosmonautics and Aviation Centre will offer free excursions at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The tour is dedicated to the development of the Russian cosmonautics and the history of the pavilion that houses the Museum, which has become a major symbol of VDNH. On 12 June at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Moskvarium will offer free thematic excursions about the water resources of Russia around the oceanarium exposition. Guests will learn about the inhabitants of the White and Black Seas as well as the Sea of Japan, and learn about seal trainings and the amazing inhabitants of Lake Baikal. Admission to the excursions is limited, so if you want to participate, please register by calling +7(499)677-77-77. Tickets must be purchased to the oceanarium.

In addition, guests may attend the free programme of the Horizon environmental festival. It includes a photo exhibition on the inhabitants of the White Sea, workshops, cartoons, a puppet show and a science show. The Festival takes place on the second floor of Moskvarium, and admission is free.

Russia—My History historical park is hosting the Media Russia youth journalism festival on 12 June. It will feature a panel discussion, a round table and an interactive programme for the guests. Registration is required to attend all events.

The City Farm will celebrate Russia Day from 12 through 14 June. Visitors are in for fascinating quests and tours as well as creative workshops. For example, during the Flight Over Russia class, kids will make a postcard with their own hands. Tickets are required to access the City Farm, but participation in activities is free of charge.

Robostantsiya at VDNH is organising a robot show on 12 June. Tickets must be purchased to participate.
