Starting from 17 July, The Slovo Centre of Slavonic Literature will, on a regular basis, offer free children's quests titled Cyril and Methodius. Mission Possible. Subsequently, these events are planned to be held every Sunday.
On 17 July, at 1:00 p.m. the Slovo Centre of Slavonic Literature will launch a new education and entertainment round for teenagers. For the duration of the quest, young participants become the disciples of Cyril and Methodius and go on an exciting tour of Russian cities, solve riddles and discover mysterious signs (letters). This will help children to learn the history of writing and master cryptography and the Glagolitic script. Recommended age for participants — 8 to 14.
After 17 July, the Cyril and Methodius: Mission Possible quests will be conducted every Sunday. To participate, please register using the link.
The Slovo Centre at VDNH was conceived as a venue for children. For instance, on weekends, the centre offers regular interactive guided tours titled Living Word for children aged 8+ and their parents. The participants are taken on an exciting journey around the world of old Russian temples and monasteries, printing houses from the time of Peter the Great and peasant schools. They are also introduced to ancient cypher codes, solve logical and linguistic puzzles as well as discover fun and interesting facts from the history of Slavonic literature and culture. Attendance is free by prior registration.
To take part in an interactive guided tour and quest, a child must be able to read and write.
