On 14 August, a photo exhibition, titled Fairy Tales in the Style of Great Artists, will open in the South Rosary of VDNH. It will present the works of young illustrators inspired by the great painting masters. Visitors will be able to look at the world of high art through the lens of beloved fairy tales for a whole month, from 14 August to 14 September 2021, during the VDNH opening hours.
And at 5:30 p.m. on the event's opening day, all interested guests are invited to a free art tour about the life and work of Wassily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Boris Kustodiev, Salvador Dali, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin and other artists. The tour participants will learn interesting and unusual facts about these great creators, as well as find out which creative traits exhibited the personal style of each of them.
In all, the exhibition will showcase 16 fairy tale illustrations referencing the works of great artists, such as Three Little Pigs in the style of Wassily Kandinsky, Thumbelina in the style of Marc Chagall, Alice in Wonderland in the style of Salvador Dali or The Snow Queen in the style of Pablo Picasso.
On the opening day, the youngest visitors will be welcomed by a tour guide, who, in a fun and playful way, will introduce them to various schools of painting: surrealism, abstract art, cubism, etc. There will also be a quiz with prizes, which will help the kids to consolidate and structure the knowledge gained.
Each painting at the exhibition will be accompanied by a QR code that will lead to a free mobile audio guide about the art in question, as well as about the creative journey of the famous artists and their followers. Kids will be invited to join an interactive and educational quest inspired by the paintings.
The project was created by VoiceBook, a Russian multimedia publisher.
