VDNH from On High: Worker and Kolkhoz Woman Pavilion becomes another observation deck for Moscow in August

18 august 2021

The excitement of enjoying the scenic views of Russia's No. 1 Exhibition from a 35-metre vantage ground will be available to all from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays as of 19 August 2021.

Until just recently, access to the top of the pavilion was only granted to those attending the events of the summer learning programme Knowledge. VDNH or concerts of the Music on the Rooftop project. From now on, the deck will be open to all VDNH visitors during the designated hours.

The pavilion's rooftop deck by the towering legend of Vera Mukhina's Worker and Kolkhoz Woman statue offers breathtaking views of VDNH grounds and beyond. This is the place to enjoy a bird's eye view of the Ostankino TV tower with Cosmos Hotel, as well as VDNH's signature landmarks like the Main Entrance Arch, Pavilion No. 1 Central or Cosmos Pavilion. Moreover, this is the closest you will ever get to the iconic 24-metre Worker and Kolkhoz Woman statue, the prime Soviet symbol.

The sun sets between 7:35 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. in late August—you can be on the observation deck just in time to be wowed by a Moscow sunset. VDNH visitors get to observe the setting sun and the dusking sky in all its waning glory in Moscow's historic spot.

A visit to the rooftop deck of the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman Pavilion will sound like an excellent proposition to tourists, photographers, lovers and simply anyone desirous of an exciting and unusual evening out. You can count on your rooftop visit to deliver an unforgettable experience, make you feel great and provide amazing selfie opportunities.

The observation deck will remain open to visitors until the end of August. Going forward, VDNH visitor feedback will be analysed to decide whether the project should continue permanently.

Tickets for the observation deck are available on the VDNH website. To reach the observation deck, use the regular pavilion entrance and take the elevator up.

Please be reminded that all VDNH events are compliant with the anti-coronavirus regulations currently in force. Visitors are expected to wear face masks and gloves, and maintain social distancing. More information on the anti-coronavirus measures at VDNH can be found here.

Ticket price: RUB 700, no discounts apply Please note that the deck has limited capacity. In the event of adverse weather conditions such as rain, strong wind or windstorm, you may, at your option, have your visit date changed or receive a refund.
