On 18 June, VDNH in Moscow will host the 90th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Cosmos pavilion. The heads of CIS delegations will discuss a number of issues, ranging from various areas of economic cooperation between CIS member states.
The agenda includes the establishment of exhibition centres for CIS states at VDNH.
During the CIS Economic Council meeting, the CIS international statistical committee will present a report on Member States' key target macroeconomic development indicators for 2020.
CIS Economic Council members will also learn about the results for planned priority measures regarding the implementation of the About the Concept of state cooperation—members of the CIS in the field of power and the use of renewable energy resources.
The documents presented include information about modernising grid component generating capacity, their efficient use, the implementation of joint investment projects in energy and joint construction and renovation of energy facilities. The issues to be touched upon include boosting energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption, using renewable energy sources and orientating the energy sector towards innovative development.
Meeting participants will review the roadmap for developing and implementing a national programme for the phyto-monitoring and eliminating locusts until 2026, as well as documents aimed at promoting cooperation.
