On July 1, the VDNH Book Pavilion will present a free-admission exhibit—The Ravishing Yellow—which is arranged by ROSIZO State Museum and Exhibition Centre. Visitors will see graphic works, illustrations, comics, zines and sculptures that feature the colour yellow as the lead character, setting the mood and becoming a symbol of the joy of creation. The admission is free, but subject to increased COVID-19 safety measures.
The Ravishing Yellow exhibit in the Book Pavilion at VDNH will take place 1 July to 25 July. The exposition will take place in the study hall. You can visit during the pavilion's business hours: every day between 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Graphic novels, illustrations, comics, zines and sculptures from the following artists will be on display: Anastasia Brintseva, Maria Epifanova, Alexey Diakov, Ekaterina Efimova and Elina Marusova. All exhibited works will emphasise the colour yellow, a colour which is often associated with the sun, summertime, carefree joy and cheer.
For example, visitors will be able to see a series of independent, small-circulation publications (zines)—Adventures of the Yellow Square—created by illustrator Anastasia Brintseva. The series tell the story of the daily routine in a museum: adventures of paintings and museum boxes in the showroom and on their way to it. One of the exhibit items is a zine poster, a board game called Big Tour of a Museum Box. It depicts the journey a museum box must take before a painting can be moved from one museum to another for an exhibition. On the one hand, it is a colourful journey, while on the other hand, it is a board game adventure through mountains of museum documentation.
Admission is free. The pavilion will be subject to safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19: all visitors must wear face masks and gloves and observe social distancing requirements. Temperatures will be taken upon entrance. The number of visitors is restricted. Café service is only to go. The summer terrace is available.
